The technology programs component of this strategy is expected to contribute to measurable impacts, including:
- New employment in technology sectors, diverse from agriculture and Aircraft Structure
- Higher skill jobs to retain more trained graduates of the state's higher education system
- Higher skill jobs to prompt the significant pool of underemployed workers to remain in the state

- The strategy maximizes use of Kansas' and the region's scientific and human resources to retain talent, create better-paying jobs, and attract former state residents and others to Kansas. For example, the electronics miniaturization program will attract many engineers and technicians with years of industry experience with companies such as L3 and Rockwell-Collins. The new centers will not only add jobs, but serve to attract other suppliers and business clusters.
In just a few years, Kansas will be transformed from sunflower fields to scientific infrastructure with talented people whose
efforts will result in new, highly-skilled jobs and future opportunities to diversify the region's economy! The technology programs
will serve as a bridge between academic and business communities in Kansas and will facilitate the commercialization of these
technologies and intellectual property developed. The programs and centers will have tremendous impact on the local and state
economy. This strategy will produce significant private investment and will help Kansas be well positioned to provide important
partnerships and investments with federal and state government, and the private sector!
