This strategic initiative provides for Unmanned Air Vehicle Technology Evaluation necessary to: 1) Emulate the National Airspace with UAV missions and perform detailed Modeling and Simulation of the communication issues, 2) Analyze UAV Sensor payloads that provides Intelligence information enhancements possible through the integration of next generation UAV technology, and 3) Rapidly provide the decision data necessary for DoD and Homeland Security leaders to evaluate and act on real timescenarios. The Kansas Adjutant General's Department of the State of Kansas will expand it's capabilities to include Homeland Security Analytics derived from sensor information as a result of technology migration to UAVs related to Civil Homeland Security initiatives and requirements.

This program creates an intelligence information-rich modeling and simulation environment related to UAV sensor information that enables the exploration of different UAV technology evaluations and assess alternative solutions. In addition, a critical part of this program is to evaluate new UAV technologies that can be developed, verified and virtually "deployed" inside the center before being introduced into new UAV programs.This will require the modeling and simulation infrastructure necessary to perform the detailed design and requirements analysis to understand next generation UAV systems and payloads. This center is being established to integrate all these activities into a central location. The center will help solve the National Objectives of the expansion of UAVs and small aircraft in the National Air Space while dramatically increasing the quality of the decision data necessary to evaluate DoD and Homeland Security threats.
